Homemade Pumpkin Pie
Making your own pumpkin pie is so worth it and very rewarding as well. What an amazing feeling it was at Thanksgiving to serve Pumpkin Pie that we grew right from seed in our very own Garden. The only thing we cheated on was the Pie Crust but in the future I would also like to make that from scratch as well. Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Recipe
One of our favorite ways to use our rhubarb is making pie. Nothing beats homemade warm pie fresh from the oven with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. We usually get a harvest of rhubarb in June and again early August and depending on the year I can sometimes get a fall harvest as well. Canned Sweet Homestyle Pickled Beets
You can feel the cooler weather upon us as we start to notice the leaves change from green to bright gold, yellow and red. The sun sets early this time of year and you know winter is right around the corner when we get that cool North Wind. This time of year is busy cleaning up the yard for winter and of course the Garden harvest. This summer we enjoyed red lettuce, romaine lettuce, butter lettuce, white potatoes, spinach, squash, fresh raspberries and peas through out the season which left us with beets, cucumbers, peppers, carrots, and dill to pickle....
