David Thompson Resort Rocket Playground
David Thompson Resort is located on Highway 11 the David Thompson Highway about half way down Abraham Lake before Rockies Heli Canada if travelling from Nordegg. If travelling from the Icefields Parkway it will be after Coral Creek/White Goat staging area and Rockies Heli Canada. There is a large parking lot and gas station located right In front of the park and you can see it from the highway.
This playground is open to the Public so anyone is welcome. A must stop if you have kids; we promise they will love it! There is also a restaurant, Gift store, gas and diesel station along with a Mini Golf course to enjoy. This would be a great resort to stay at with the kids with a full service campground, tent sites, RV rentals/cabin rentals as well as a Hotel if that's more your style.
The Park has a large Rocket structure constructed of steel with two steel huge slides to enjoy. The one in the picture above is really fast we all had a few laughs travelling down this slide. You can make your way up the rocket via stairs and platform walk or climb your way up the ladders inside the rocket.
There is a smaller playground located in behind for the young ones as well as an old merry go round, monkey bars, teeter totter and diggers. Did we mention the view from here isn't too bad either and you can grab a coffee and snacks to enjoy your time at the park.
