Carson Pegasus Provincial Park | Camping

Carson Pegasus Provincial Park is located approximately 200 Km North West of Edmonton Alberta, Canada. The Campground located within the park has almost 200 sites with walk in tenting as well and is situated on the scenic Lake McLeod. There is also Little McLeod Lake which is paddle friendly.

The sites are beautifully treed with spaces between them and some sites even offer power. Carson Pegasus is situated along the foothills and within the boreal forest so it is such a beautiful and peaceful place to camp.

The Campground contains 2 Playgrounds, a small beach with roped swimming area, a few boat launches, showers, washrooms, small convenience store, firewood for a price, several walking trails including a seawall along the lake and so much more.

We stayed in Loop C Site 75 and it was very peaceful and secluded. The park can be a little confusing to navigate at first but take a map and head out and explore the trails its so much fun. I will post the map below but don't be overwhelmed as it looks congested but does not feel that way. We are used to backcountry camping but because of the kids we just wanted something simple and this place felt nice. I would say Loops H and G felt the most congested with bigger units parked sideways but they were still nice and right on the water.

The Park is located within the Boreal Forest so the Flora and Fauna was spectacular. With the wildflowers in bloom and the unique birch trees we has do much fun exploring. We made a nature scavenger hunt for our 3 year old and she had a blast looking for pinecones, mushrooms and so much more.
