Jurassic Forest | Explore YEG

We decided to check out Jurassic Forest located just outside of Gibbons Alberta, a short drive North from the City of Edmonton. What a fun place to take the family for a couple of hours and explore the Old Growth forest with Prehistoric Animatronic Dinosaurs hidden throughout. We pre booked our timeslot on there website as required for limited capacity during Covid. We lucked out and got the first timeslot of the day and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The Playground area, Dig site and Gift Shop were open however the concession and Mini Golf were not.
Jurassic Forest has approximately 2 km of Stroller Friendly, Wheel Chair Accessible Boardwalk that winds through the Old Growth Forest. You will also find several places to sit along the way to take a break and enjoy nature. Jurassic Forest isn't just a Dinosaur Park but an Educational experience for all ages teaching you about our plant's and animal species today. Throughout our journey you will find several interpretive signs with some interesting facts.
During the current restrictions Masks are required indoors and when distance cannot be maintained (3 years and under do not require a mask). The traffic moves in one direction on the boardwalk but entry times are spaced and you never feel rushed as people can always pass you if they want.

The little park and dig site area is great for the smaller kids but may be boring for the older ones. There was plenty of picnic tables and shade to sit around and watch the little ones play. The Mini Golf course was under construction but looked like it will be a great addition when completed.

Thanks for following along and we hope you enjoy your adventure as much as we did! If you want to get an inside look and see our Journey through time, Click the Link below to see more.
