Royal Alberta Museum | Edmonton Alberta
The Royal Alberta Museum is Located in Edmonton's downtown corridor right by the ICE DISTRICT and Rogers Place home of the Edmonton Oilers. Note that the only parking on site is mobility issues only; however there is plenty of parking close by for a low cost. We parked on the street just south of the Museum for $3.00 for 4 hours.

The Museum is the largest in Western Canada and features Alberta's Human and Natural History along with a live bug gallery, Children's Gallery and Featured Gallery. This is a must visit for all ages and can take anywhere from 2 hours to a full day depending on your interest level.
Of course the 1st stop had to be the children's Gallery 6000sq feet of interactive play for the little ones! What a cool experience for kids under 8 years old. Unfortunately due to Covid some of the activities were closed however it didn't stop us from having fun.
Next we checked out the bug gallery and got to a little too close for comfort! I didn't take any pictures as bugs creep me out. Yes they are beneficial however that does not mean I have to like them. Click the video link at the bottom to see up close in personal.
The Human and Natural History exhibits were full of Alberta's rich history. Here we discovered dyno fossils, crystals, old tractors and Alberta's rich aboriginal history. Even some Edmonton Oilers history!
Finally We end with the Abandoned Alberta Exhibit which did not disappoint! Abandoned Alberta is a featured Alberta Photographer named Joe Chowaniec. With over 30000 social media followers Joe has made quite the name for himself. We even have a signed copy of his picture book, how cool is that!
